Monday and Friday at Pikes-Peek-A-Boo day care.
Receiving a bronze medal at the annual Olympics
Forced to eat the one thing hated more then anything else.
Strawberries.
Falling asleep to the movie Babe, day after day.
Learning the right way to say the word “animal”
And that there is no such thing as boy and girl colors.
The taste of a sweet Klondike bar.
Wednesdays at Grandma’s house.
Sharing one with Patrick after our afternoon nap.
Suntan lotion glistened on our skin
As we walked over to the community pool.
Hours spent splashing, jumping and racing
From one side to the other-
Begging for just five more minutes.
Tuesday and Thursday with Kate the babysitter.
Our faces sticky with jelly from PB & J’s,
Eaten under the big oak tree out front.
Pretending to be chefs on a cooking show
Leaving our handprints in the gooey dough.
Flooding the yard to make our own mini river system.
Nighttime with Mom and Dad.
Waiting on the “Kid’s Side Trail” for mom.
To walk her home from work at the lake.
Never being able to stay still while fishing with Dad.
Giving every fish we caught a kiss good-bye.
Rushing to t-ball and Boy Scout meetings,
Always being the mascot.
The summer I was six,
The summer I will NEVER forget.

Today. Thank you.
Thank you for the reality check
So this is sorta a reflection from yesterday but sitting in the room listening to everyone read their tension poems made be realize how important it is to not judge a person on first impressions. I will be real and say that I have done it before, judge someone before I really knew them, I didn't take the time to get know some one. I have jumped to conclusions.
Thank you for opening my eyes:
It is amazing the things people can do and live with. It amazing how some people can have so many things going on in their life and still look fine and function on a day to day basics. As corny as it sounds this class has made me get to know my classmates, I have learned things about them that I would have never known. We have to remember that tomorrow is not promised to anyone and we have to take time to get to know people, to learn what they are really about.
Thank you for sharing your pain:
The stories shared in this class have been deep, intense, and sad, but the really sad thing is that I know that it is only a scratch on the surface. I know that they are even more deep things that go on in peoples lives that they CAN'T share.
Thank you for reminding me that it could be worse.
All in all this class has made me thankful for the life I have, my friends and my family.
Always with HOPE,
Sarah

Think Twice- I Dare you Poem
Think Twice
Go ahead Mom, ground me, I Dare you.
If you do I will cover your sparkling clean house
With empty water bottles and wrappings from Hershey Kisses.
I will send your favorite child a box of the burn cookies,
And don’t even think that he will get the bigger pie this time.
Be ready for a high electric bill, because every light and TV will be on.
You may want to invest in some iTunes stock,
I can for-see their sales increasing greatly during my sentence.
Watch your step when you enter the house, I wouldn’t want you to trip
Over ALL my shoes, as they lay in wait for you at the door.
Don’t worry I will still take the garbage out and cover the backyard with it.
So mom you may want to think twice before you ground me,
Before you make me spend ALL of my free time at home.
Go ahead Mom, ground me, I Dare you.
If you do I will cover your sparkling clean house
With empty water bottles and wrappings from Hershey Kisses.

In These Halls - Senior Poem
With little more then the books in hand
And prayers in mind,
We entered these halls.
The memories held and lessons learned
Here, in these halls.
We battled ourselves and our enemies.
Cried from misery,
And from laughter.
In these halls,
We made friends and
Lost them, in more than one way.
Felt the rush of a first kiss and the
Ache from a broken heart.
In these halls,
Some passed with flying colors,
Others, by the skin of their teeth.
While some were content with dance tickets,
Others worked to find their ticket out of here.
In these halls,
We rose above our fears and,
Learned how to speak our minds.
Grew from primitive children.
To sophisticated young adults.
In these halls,
We came together-
To rejoice in victory,
To mourn in the loss of our own.
Four years later,
We leave these halls
Diploma in hand
And a different prayer in mind.
Above all,
It doesn’t end here,
In these halls.
And prayers in mind,
We entered these halls.
The memories held and lessons learned
Here, in these halls.
We battled ourselves and our enemies.
Cried from misery,
And from laughter.
In these halls,
We made friends and
Lost them, in more than one way.
Felt the rush of a first kiss and the
Ache from a broken heart.
In these halls,
Some passed with flying colors,

In these halls,

To rejoice in victory,
To mourn in the loss of our own.

And a different prayer in mind.
Above all,
It doesn’t end here,
In these halls.

My Real Name Poems
With an H.
My real name is Sarah, with an “H”.
Today my name is one more hour
Because, there is never enough time.
Tomorrow my name is unknown,
For no one knows what it holds.
My name once was deception,
Until I found, truly, who I am.
Unaware
My real name is Sarah.
Yesterday my name was naïve,
Unaware of simple things.
Today my name is blessed,
To have the things I have.
Tomorrow my name is family,
Whatever tomorrow bring they will be there.
My real name is Sarah, with an “H”.
Today my name is one more hour
Because, there is never enough time.
Tomorrow my name is unknown,
For no one knows what it holds.
My name once was deception,
Until I found, truly, who I am.
Unaware
My real name is Sarah.
Yesterday my name was naïve,
Unaware of simple things.
Today my name is blessed,
To have the things I have.
Tomorrow my name is family,
Whatever tomorrow bring they will be there.

Thoughts on Train Tracks Pic.
This makes me think of the trip that me and nika took to Chicago 2 summers ago. We took the train from PH right into town and then the fun started. We went all over and did everything. We shopped on Michigan Ave, we walked all over at Navy Pier, we even went one night to see Blue Man group which was the best show ever. On the train on the way home I order a pizza which look like 10 mins to cook and then once it was done I went to pick it up and dropped it onto the floor of the train and then had to wait another 10 mins for a new one to cook. The night before we left I went to look for my tennis shoes only to realize that they didn't fit any more. My mom was unable to go on the trip with us but she gave me her tennis shoes. Anytime i would talk to her she would ask if her shoes were having fun, so I started to take off one shoe and take a pic. with it next too the major landmarks. We have pictures of the shoes on the tour bus, in millennium park, in front of the blue man group ther. there are tons of shoe picts. The Chicago trip was an amazing time.
