Thank you for the reality check
So this is sorta a reflection from yesterday but sitting in the room listening to everyone read their tension poems made be realize how important it is to not judge a person on first impressions. I will be real and say that I have done it before, judge someone before I really knew them, I didn't take the time to get know some one. I have jumped to conclusions.
Thank you for opening my eyes:
It is amazing the things people can do and live with. It amazing how some people can have so many things going on in their life and still look fine and function on a day to day basics. As corny as it sounds this class has made me get to know my classmates, I have learned things about them that I would have never known. We have to remember that tomorrow is not promised to anyone and we have to take time to get to know people, to learn what they are really about.
Thank you for sharing your pain:
The stories shared in this class have been deep, intense, and sad, but the really sad thing is that I know that it is only a scratch on the surface. I know that they are even more deep things that go on in peoples lives that they CAN'T share.
Thank you for reminding me that it could be worse.
All in all this class has made me thankful for the life I have, my friends and my family.
Always with HOPE,
Sarah
